With Barcelona boss Luis Enrique opting to rock the boat at the Camp Nou this season by tinkering with the club's tactical system, the notion of securing a regular place in the Catalan's starting 11 has been at a premium for a number of the Spanish giant's stars.

Left back Jordi Alba has spent a stint of the season occupying the subs bench due to the rotational changes made by Enrique, and has been left discontented with the lack of game time. Although according to a report provided by MARCA, the 28-year-old claims that it is still a 'dream' to represent his current club, and wishes to stay put for a 'long time.'

Amid fears over the player's future at La Liga outfit, the defender, speaking to the media, portrayed his frustration in not playing as often as he'd desire under Enrique, claiming that he only 'gets better' with game time under his belt:

"It's clear that, the more I play, the better," he claimed. "My dream has always been to play here and stay at Barcelona for a long time.

"We haven't spoken about it, but a footballer always wants to play and I have not played as much as I've wanted to.

"I don't want to look for excuses but at least I'm currently getting game time and I want to win LaLiga and the Copa del Rey."

Enrique's 3-4-3 formation implemented over the period of Barca's 6-1 Champions league comeback against Paris Saint-Germain did not favour Alba's inclusion in the match day squad.

That particular system with three at the back has been scrapped for the time being however, as Rafinha has picked up an injury, and Neymar is still serving a suspension.

Alba concluded by saying that not playing regularly was 'unusual' for him, but also stressed that sometimes you have to accept change, and that the ordeal has ultimately 'matured' him as a player:

"Sometimes these situations all happen over your head," he continued. "Not playing was unusual for me, but it matures you and makes you value things more." He continued.

"The change of system influenced things a lot. Whether I like it or not, I have to accept it."
