Barcelona Confident of Snapping Up Arsenal Defender Hector Bellerin This Summer With £34m Bid [ad_1]

Barcelona have grown increasingly confident that they will be able to convince Hector Bellerin to return to the Nou Camp this summer, following Arsenal's poor season.

According to The Mirror, Barcelona have made signing a right back their number one priority this summer, and are confident of sealing a deal worth £34m for their former charge.

The Blaugrana, who have struggled to replace Dani Alves, have been forced into deploying Sergi Roberto on the right hand side of the backline this season, and have found their defensive frailties exploited in the Champions League, most notably against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsene Wenger brought Bellerin to London as an academy prospect back in 2011, but it seems the Spaniard could follow the path taken Cesc Fabregas by returning to his boyhood club.

Once a popular figure at the Emirates stadium, Bellerin was booed by Gunners fans last month against Crystal Palace, and has struggled to hold down a first team spot since his return from injury.

Barcelona believe the ongoing turmoil at the club and uncertainty over Wenger's future, coupled with Bellerin's desire to play Champions League football will strengthen the Catalan side's hand.

Bellerin is not the only player Arsenal face a fight to hold onto this summer, as the club also face the possibility of star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil departing in search of new opportunities and Champions League football.
